We Win!

highcroft_win.jpgMalaria No More would like to salute Miles to End Malaria partner Patrón Highcroft Racing for their dominant victory in this weekend's Petit Le Mans race. In the process of winning the last race of the season, the team walked away with an even bigger prize, having captured back-to-back drivers, teams and manufacturers American Le Mans Series championship titles.

Drivers and Miles to End Malaria champions David Brabham, Simon Pagenaud and Marino Franchitti's victory sealed Brabham's second consecutive driver's title, Pagenaud's first, a second consecutive teams' crown for Highcroft and back-to-back awards for Honda Performance Development.

Taking the lead after just 19th minutes, the team never looked back, holding the lead for the remainder of the race. Both the drivers and the car distinguished themselves throughout the 1000-mile journey for their pace and consistency. By the checkered flag, Patrón Highcroft Racing had built an 11 lap lead over their closest competition. In winning, Duncan Dayton's Patron Highcroft Racing also became the first American-owned and based team to clinch two ALMS teams' championships in the outright prototype class.

On the race track, every mile counts. Help us add them up to save lives through the Miles To End Malaria program! Throughout the 2010 American Le Mans Season, Highcroft Racing and Malaria No More have teamed up in the race to save lives from malaria. A simple $10 mosquito net is all it takes to protect children from malaria, a preventable and treatable disease that kills a child in Africa every 30 seconds. Miles To End Malaria brings together race fans to help raise awareness and funds to fight the disease and to be a part of a global effort to provide every person at risk in Africa with a mosquito net by the end of 2010 and to eliminate malaria deaths by 2015.

Highcroft Racing and their fans generated more than $63,000 for the malaria fight during the 2009 season and are racing to save even more lives in 2010.

While the team won the American Le Mans Series championship in 2009, they are dedicated to working with Malaria No More for this much bigger battle again this season.

Will you join them? The world is fighting—and winning—the battle against malaria. Together, we can cross the finish line and declare victory in the race to end malaria deaths.
